Galilea is the form that the biblical place name Galilee takes in Spanish and other languages. It has been around as a name for some time – for example an asteroid was named Galilea in 1946. It entered the American name charts in 2002, and it is unlikely to be a coincidence that this was the year that the popular Mexican actress Galilea Montijo won the Mexican version of the TV competition Big Brother.
