Lacey is a surname, originally belonging to someone from the village of Lassy in Normandy, used as a girl's first name. However, the fashion for the name probably owes much to the attractive associations it has with lace, particularly as the name is also spelt Lacy along with Laci and Lacie. The form Lacy was used regularly as a boy's name from the 1880s to the 1960s.
