Naming twins
There's a tradition of giving twins names that are related. The names may reflect an association; begin with the same initial (Paul, Patricia); sound alike (Suzanna, Hannah); or have a similar rhythm (Benjamin, Jonathan).

But there are lots of reasons why your twins won't thank you if their names are too closely associated for comfort.
First, and most important, people will be much more likely to get them confused if there's a strong link between their names. Names are used as labels and twins, perhaps more than other children, need individual labels that belong solely to them.
Secondly, official forms, examination papers, and letters can easily become confused, especially if initials are shared.
Thirdly, if the names are closely linked by association, twins are likely to come in for a lot of name teasing or punning.
